Titles, canonicals, Product JSON-LD, FAQ schema, and a sitemap that actually lists your theme. This is a working note from the VicanTheme journal, written for theme authors and SEO-minded buyers. The catalog we keep returning to is HTML templates, because files you can host beat a locked builder when the brand has to last.
If you already know the industry, skip ahead to the recommended demo — Northline — and use the headings as a checklist rather than a speech.
A marketplace only ranks if URLs are real pages
Filtered views are not pages. Each VicanTheme product has a slug, a unique title, and its own canonical. Category indexes exist too, but they do not replace the product document.
If you copy a theme onto your domain, you still need your own title, description, and schema. The marketplace SEO does not travel with the ZIP.
What we put on the product page
Unique title and meta description, canonical URL, Open Graph and Twitter image, Product JSON-LD with USD price, FAQ schema when the listing has FAQs, and breadcrumbs.
Northline’s product URL is a document a crawler can store. Your deployed architecture site must become a different document with your name on it.
Sitemap, robots, and noindex
Published products, published journal articles, and CMS pages go into /sitemap.xml. Drafts, scheduled posts, carts, accounts, and admin are out. 404s send noindex.
Do not buy a rank-tracking fantasy. This checklist is the floor: unique documents, crawlable HTML, honest previews.
After you buy
Replace every demo title. Add Organization JSON-LD that names your practice. Generate a sitemap from your real pages, not from our catalog.
Templates do not contain your hours, your jury wins, or your vintage list. If you publish the demo copy, you compete with every other buyer of the same pack.
Questions people actually ask
Does buying a theme rank my site?
No. It gives you clean HTML to publish. You still need content and links.
Is FAQ schema always on?
Only when FAQs are visible on the page.
